| In May 2008, the BNMC organized a workshop on Computational Morphodynamics. The goals were to provide a forum for sharing ideas across campus and for different groups to discuss common problems, directions, goals and needs. | |
* What is a super-group meeting? The super-group meetings are intended to provide an informal setting for discussions and the exchange of ideas between people in different labs. They are similar to lab meetings, with some differences: the attendees come from many different groups; the focus is on a particular science area rather than lab activities (e.g., computational morphodynamics); there are no round-the table activity reports. In contrast to formal seminars, any presentations and discussions at these meetings are not expected to show results, rather they are intended to stimulate discussion of the current needs and interests of the Caltech community. Future meetings could include a combination of, or alternate between, open discussion, presentations, short tutorials, journal-clubs and specific focused topic discussion.
