One of the BNMC's charters is to organize meetings, seminars and workshops at Caltech. Some of these events are local to the Caltech community; others bring in speakers and visitors from other institutions in the the Los Angeles area. Below is a list of upcoming and past BNMC-organized events.

Workshops
The BNMC also organizes mini-workshops on focused issues of interest to the Caltech biological modeling community.

21 May 2008
Workshop on Computational Morphodynamics
Computational Morphodynamics may be defined as the study of the three-way interaction of physical, informational, and geometrical processes that influences the changing form, shape, and structure of living cells, tissues and organisms.

22 March 2006
BNMC Stochastics Meeting
On March 22, the BNMC organized another workshop, this time on stochastic simulation in biology. The goal was to have participants meet and discuss what they are doing, learn from others who may be working on similar problems, possibly start new projects and collaborations, and generally help the BNMC shape its goals.

2 February 2006
BNMC Imaging Meeting
On February 2, the BNMC organized a small meeting of Caltech people involved in image processing in biology. The goal was to let participants meet and learn from other Caltech researchers who may be working on similar problems, and to help the BNMC shape its goals with respect to image processing in biology.
Conferences
The Beckman Institute BNMC, in collaboration with the University of California at Irvine, organized the 2007 International Conference on Systems Biology. It was held October 1-6 at the Conference Center in Long Beach. Caltech and the members of the BNMC have a history of being centrally involved in ICSB, beginning with our hosting ICSB 2001 and continuing with our close involvement with Hiroaki Kitano and the Systems Biology Institute of Japan.
